Sleek Makeup Blush by 3 Palettes in Sugar and Flame Review & Swatches.

Hi lovelies,

I've got a quick and easy review today for you, and that's on two Blush by 3 palettes called Sugar and Flame from Sleek Makeup. I already own a couple of other shade collections in these blush palettes, together with several blush singles, but I left them all in Melbourne. I picked up these two additions to my collection a few months ago when Luxola had a sale and I really like both, though I'll admit to having a preference for Sugar.

Both palettes are warm toned, with each palette containing 3 matte/shimmer shades in complementary colours (hence the Blush by 3 name). Each trio is housed in a sturdy, slim and compact plastic case which shuts securely and fits neatly into the palm of your hand. Each compact also has a large mirror built into the lid, which I seldom use but still love to see included! The only (slight) complaint I have on the packaging is that it's a little difficult to determine which palette you've picked up without flipping it over to see the name on the bottom.

Keep reading after the jump!

Sugar is the palette I wanted for everyday makeup looks, as the shades are perfect for my skintone. Sugar has three shades called Turbinado (satin - deep berry), Muscovado (shimmerplummy bronze) & Demerara (mattenude orange). Each shade is named after a different type of sugar! Muscovado is my favourite, though I also really love Turbinado. The swatch of Demerara on my arm looks quite subtle, but it definitely shows up on my cheeks when it's applied with a blush brush.

I bought Flame because I thought the deep red collection would look quite flattering on deeper skin tones. Similar to the Sugar palette, all three shades are named according to a fire theme. Molten is a neutral satin peach, Bonfire is a fierce matte red and Furnace is a shimmery marsala shade.

All six shades are quite finely-milled and very pigmented, which means they apply beautifully on the skin and blend out very well. They are also very buildable, so it's possible to get anything from a sheer wash of colour to really pigmented cheeks, depending on which look you're after. As a result, I think these would look beautiful on any skintone, based on how much is applied, though I do think that Flame would suit deeper skintones better due to how bold the shades are. Longevity with these blushes is also pretty impressive, I tend to get at least 6-8 hours out of these before I notice slight fading. All in all, I'd consider these a very big success for such a budget product!

The Sleek Blush by 3 palettes are available in several different shade collections for $14.99 USD each from the Sleek website (they ship internationally), or alternatively, from a variety of other online cosmetic stores.

Have you tried any of the Sleek blushes, lovelies? Do you like the sound of these blush palette? Which collection do you prefer?

Much love,
MM.

  1. I've got three Sleek i-divine (eyeshadow) palettes which I love, but I don't have any of their blushes. I don't wear blush much but I can attest to the quality of Sleek make up.
