Hi lovelies,
Oh my, it's been a month since I last blogged! I do apologise, I caught a dreadful cold which took ages to recuperate from, and time simply got away from me!
Since I'm feeling better now, I wanted to share a post today on some beautiful, luxe lipsticks which landed on my desk a couple of weeks ago. The Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colors certainly live up to the name, as they definitely have a luxurious look about them, don't you think?
Packaged in a sleek, metallic gold tube, you do get quite a little thrill every time you use this to paint your pout. I certainly do, anyway!
Here's what the brand has to say about the Luxe Lip Colors..
"Our boldest, most vibrant colour ever. This sumptuous formula dramatically boosts moisture levels while intensely rejuvenating lips, keeping them comfortable and conditioned—even after it’s removed. Now in 30 shades, with a sleek gold tube. It's luxury, redefined."
Keep reading after the jump!

Product Review: Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Sea Pearls Shimmer Brick Eye Palette (and swatches).
Hi lovelies,
Happy Friday!!! Gosh, it's been a busy week with birthday dinners, farewell dinners and finally, going to watch Superman today! It's a pretty good movie, it started off very well but did get a wee bit draggy in the end. Overall though, I really enjoyed it!
Getting back to beauty blogging; I've got a gorgeous product to show you today, and that's the lovely new shimmer brick eye palette from the latest, limited edition (there are those dreaded words again) Sea Pearls collection from Bobbi Brown. As you know from my last review, I absolutely love my shimmer bricks (I've found my bronze shimmer brick and am really getting a kick out of giving my skin a bronzy glow during the cool winter months)...but I was especially excited to receive a shimmer brick meant for eyes!
The Sea Pearls shimmer brick eye palette is seriously stunning. Handmade in Italy, the sleek, mirrored black packaging is compact and tidy, fitting neatly in the palm of your hand (which means that it's very travel friendly). You get ten iridescent and sheer pastel shadows in the compact, all of which were inspired by under sea hues.
The shades range from neutrals to soft yellow, green, blue and pink pastels. All the shades in the rainbow, really!
My personal favourites have to be (going left to right), the 1st, 5th, and last three shades.
All ten shades appear quite pearlescent when applied on skin. As the shadows are quite narrow, you'd be best to use your finger (or a very skinny eyeshadow brush) to apply individual shades to your lids.
You can also sweep your finger over several shades to create your own unique look. I also like to swirl a large fluffy brush over the entire palette to highlight my cheekbones.
The shades are quite sheer, but buildable. I applied two swipes for the swatches below. You can also use a wet brush to apply these for added impact, or choose to wear them over a cream shadow as a base. Just quickly, pressing them over a cream shadow really makes the shadows pop!
Pros:

Pros:
Elegant, slimline design, making it very travel friendly.
Sheer, pastel shades, perfect for those who are afraid to dabble in strong shades.
Ten shadow shades mean an endless variety of looks.
Cons:
Limited edition (sigh).
A little expensive at $99 RRP (although you do get ten shades, which adds value for money).
Not ideal for those who love pigmented shadows.
The shadows are a little narrow, which are not idea for those who love using makeup brushes.
The eye shimmer brick retails at $99 on the Bobbi Brown website, or you can purchase it from Bobbi Brown counters in David Jones and Myer.
Last but not least, I leave you with a view of the entire Sea Pearl collection, which you can also view here. Aren't the glosses and blush gorgeous? Stay tuned for an upcoming post where I show you the limited edition Sea Pearl polish, Pink Pearl!

Product Review: Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Lilac Rose Collection (and swatches).
Hello lovelies!
It's been a cold and rainy day in Melbourne today, and yours truly did a really silly thing! I wasn't sure if I had turned off my heater properly so I actually left work at lunch time and came home to check, and then just worked from home for the rest of the time. Naturally, it WAS off! Does anyone else do silly things like that? Best safe than sorry though!
I have two pretty things to share with you today, which are perfect for wearing in the colder autumn and winter months! Let me introduce you to the gorgeous lilac sparkle shadow and lilac rose shimmer brick compact (first mentioned in this post) from the new Bobbi Brown limited edition Lilac Rose collection (did I mention that's it's limited edition?)! I have a thing for limited edition products...I love limited edition products because of the exclusivity factor, but it's a double edged sword because if you fall in love with it, what happens when they no longer make it?! Anyway, I digress, back to the products at hand...
The lilac shadow is one of the prettiest shadows I've seen for a while. The soft, almost frosty shade would go beautifully on most skintones, and it's such a smooth and silky shadow given that it's a glitter! It's meant to be worn both day and night, I would wear it as a soft wash across the mobile eyelid for daytime and built up for 'wow' factor at night. You can get added impact by using a damp brush, or by using a cream shadow as a base underneath. It's the classy, adult way to wear glitter, perfect for ladies who want to wear glitter but don't want to look like a disco ball.
On to swatches, the leftmost shade is the lilac rose sparkle shadow while the other five shades are from the shimmer quad (swatched top to bottom, moving left to right).
The sparkle shadow retails for $44 (shop it here) while the shimmer brick retails for $85 (shop it here). If you spend over $100 on the official Bobbi Brown website, you score free shipping and a free dark circle emergency kit! Bobbi Brown is also available from David Jones and Myer.
The full collection has a gorgeous eyeshadow palette with eight shadows, nail polish, blush and several glosses, including an online exclusive featuring a dual ended brush, cleansing oil sample, cream shadow and gel liner (which my lovely blog friend Ingrid reviewed here on her blog). View the whole collection here.
What do you think, lovelies, do any of the items from this collection take your fancy? If so, get in quick as it might not be around for long! I'm loving the look of the blush, eye palette, and glosses in particular!
Much love,
MM.

The shimmer brick is also a lovely choice for ladies who love sheer, pretty colour. It's packaged in a sturdy push lock black case, standard (but classy) Bobbi Brown packaging. Each strip can be used separately for a subtle eye look (lovely when paired with a statement lip), but you can also swirl a brush over the lot and dust some along your cheekbones as a highlighter. I used to own a bronze version of this and used mine to death, and what I loved is that the shades remained pigmented even a year later! Just quietly, I love that it comes with a mirror, it always comes in handy for travelling with!

Product Rave: Bobbi Brown Lip Liner & Creamy Matte Lip Color.
I don't know what it is about this time of year, but I'm suddenly noticing matte lipsticks everywhere! I think we're experiencing a revival of the eighties (?), where matte lipstick was reigning king. I'm planning on doing a post soon on matte lipsticks and the best way to wear them as they seem to be the new trend, but for now, I'm going to share my rave review of the new Bobbi Brown creamy matte lipsticks, as promised in a previous post.
In my illness induced haze, I somehow managed to leave out lip pencils while packing for my trip back to KL, so I made a quick trip to Bobbi Brown to pick up a lip pencil (I chose a nude pink called Brownie Pink). While I was there, I also picked up one of the lovely new creamy matte lip pencils (I selected Razzberry, a bright raspberry shade). I love Bobbi Brown, it's one of my favourite high(er) end brands, and the products are always of fantastic quality. I'd been lusting after one of these creamy matte lipsticks since it was released a few months ago, so I jumped at the chance to treat myself to a little pick-me-up (silver lining to being sick).

The shade I chose is a pretty nude pink that's really a 'my lips but better' (MLBB) shade, so it goes beautifully with all my lipsticks. I love how smooth, pigmented and long-wearing it is, it always leaves a pretty stain behind. I also like that a free sharpener is included in the package for convenience! For tips on how to wear lip liner, visit my post on four ways with lipstick.
Pros
Sleek, elegant and slim-line design.
Comes with a free sharpener, so you will never have to worry about sharpening it!
Creamy and non-drying, yet manages to be long-lasting at the same time.
Seems to prevent feathering or color sinking into the lines in your lips.
Comes in a variety of shades (8 shades) for versatility.
Contains 1g of product so it should last a fair while.
Cons
This is a matter of personal choice but I'd prefer if it was a wind-up pencil to eliminate the need for a sharpener. You do, however, get a more precise application with the current design.
Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Color.
I am absolutely loving this lipstick!!! Razzberry is a pretty raspberry shade that's gotten me lots of compliments. I can't get enough and am sorely tempted to get a few more shades. It totally lives up to its promise in being creamy as my lips never feel dry while wearing it, and believe me, that's quite an accomplishment for someone with chronically dry lips! Not only is it very comfortable to wear, but the color is smooth, pigmented and really lasts (even through eating and drinking), and leaves a very pretty stain behind once it wears off (I've found that applying a light gloss over the remaining stain also looks gorgeous).
Pros
Elegant, sleek and slim-line tube design, meaning it will take up very little room in your lipstick drawer!
Creamy, non-drying and smooth, making it very comfortable to wear. Most importantly, the color doesn't sink into the lines into your lips.
Provides long-lasting color, leaving a pretty stain behind on fading.
Comes in a variety of gorgeous, flattering shades including nudes, reds, corals and brights (there are 14 shades in all).
Contains 3.6 g of product, which is quite generous.
Cons
Retails for $44, which may seem pricy, but you use so little product with each application, it should last ages!
Last but not least, I leave you with some photos. I wore these two products for a pool party, teaming a strapless blue frock with simple makeup, then adding a pop of colour with Razzberry on the lips (I applied Brownie Pink underneath for a good base).
For more information, click here to read about the Bobbi Brown Lip Liner and here to read about the Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Color. It's actually a fantastic time to invest in one of these (if not both), as there is currently a Valentine's Day promotion on the official website, offering free standard shipping, a free Rich Brown Eye Palette and Extreme Party Mascara deluxe sample! Click here to visit the website, but don't dawdle, as it only runs until the 7th of February 2013!
What do you think of these products, lovelies? Are you keen on matte lipsticks? Do you think you'll be taking up this generous offer? I have to confess I'm very tempted to pick up this offer!
Much love,
MM.
