MUA Makeup Academy Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in Pink Shimmer Review + Swatches.

Hi lovelies,

I have a quick little review of a pretty highlighting powder from Makeup Academy (MUA) to show you today. If you've been following me for a while, you'll know that I'm a huge MUA fan; I've liked almost everything I've bought from them thus far (more MUA reviews here). They have quite a few sales from time to time, so I like to wait for the specials with free or low shipping to buy. I picked up this highlighter in October when I realised I only brought one highlighter with me to Malaysia.

This highlighter is available in both gold and pink, but I chose pink to try because the Sleek MakeUP highlighter I brought with me was gold. That's a decision I've come to regret, as I wish I'd picked up both shades now!

It comes packaged in a clear compact which clicks shut quite securely. The compact isn't the most luxe in design. but it's functional and sturdy which is all that matters, really. The highlighter itself is beautiful, with a gorgeous embossed pattern slightly reminiscent of oceanic waves, as you can see from the photo below.

When I ran my finger across the compact to swatch it, I was surprised at how rough and gritty it felt, but it actually swatches very smoothly on skin, appearing as a cool-toned silvery pink. This powder applies beautifully, giving skin a subtle, luminous radiance when applied with a fluffy brush, though you can also build it up if you want that shimmery look the magazines always seem to have. I use my Real Techniques blusher brush to apply this highlighter, I think it's too bulky to be used for blush but perfect for highlighter.

I love how pigmented this Pink Shimmer shade is, the swatch below is with just one swipe over the pan. It's also great for highlighting the brow bone, and can even be used as an eyeshadow when applied with a damp brush.

Do you like the look of this highlighter, lovelies? A part of me is massively in love just because of how pretty it looks in the palette! This palette is available for £3 from the MUA website, quite a bargain!

Much love,
MM.

Product Review: Makeup Academy (MUA) | Power Pout Lip Tint (and Swatches).

Hello lovelies!

I hope you're all doing fantastically well! Here's a post I promised a few beloved readers a little while ago, I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to get it done! Oh well, better late than never, let me introduce you to the MUA Power Pout Lip Tints, which have taken up permanent residence in my handbag! The Power Pouts are retractable lip crayons which are quite similar to a tinted lip balm (but with better pigmentation than you usually get in a tinted balm).

MUA say "the Power Pout is a lip treatment with colour intensity that relieves dry, cracked lips, providing immediate moisturisation. The handy pencil-style applicator provides easy to apply sheer soft lip colour and rolls up for easy use."

As my long time readers know, I'm somewhat obsessed with lip crayons! There is something to be said for colouring your lips in with a jumbo pencil...I find it easy to apply my lip colour even without using a mirror (that could be my party trick, perhaps?), and let's face it, it's just FUN!

There are six shades available in the range, as detailed below:

Irreplaceable - Lilac pink
Rendezvous - Peach nude
Broken Hearted - Pink
Justify - Coral pink
Crazy in Love - Maroon
Runway - Red

Product Review: Makeup Academy Single Shadows in #7, #9 and #14.

Hello lovelies,

Sorry for the hiatus since my last post, I've been a bit busy and also a bit under the weather, which is why it's been a bit quiet on the blog front! I'm working on a few little projects though, so stay tuned!

If you follow me on Instagram, you might've seen a recent haul photo I posted from Makeup Academy (MUA). I'm quite obsessed with their brand, I love pretty much everything I've got from there (I have lipsticks, lipglosses, eyeshadow palettes, nail polish, primers, and many, many more). I recently ordered a few more things to add to my MUA collection, which I'll be reviewing soon, amongst which were these three gorgeous pearl eyeshadow singles. I'm not usually a fan of eyeshadow singles because I seldom hit pan on anything, and also because I find palettes easier to store, but these ones were so pretty, I simply couldn't resist!

I picked up the pearl shades #7 (spring green), #9 (duchrome purple/blue) and #14 (forest green with deep black undertones). I was also a really bad beauty blogger and swatched them before I took photos (I'm so sorry, but they were so pretty I couldn't resist dipping a finger in)!

L-R: Shade #14, #7 and #9 (at the bottom).

L-R: #9, #7 and #14.

I must say these gorgeous shadows are amazing; the quality is fantastic and they are very 'buttery' and smooth. I also love that there's very little fallout. The shadow that really stands out to me is #9, it's such a unique shade and I just don't have anything like it in my collection (I've got an upcoming eye makeup/EOTD post featuring this beauty, so please stay tuned)! If you're thinking it looks a little familiar, that's because I used it in my Goth look for last week's makeup tag!

The packaging is great, it's quite sturdy and very easy to open (unlike some that make you fear breaking a nail)! I also like that it's transparent so you can see exactly which shade you're looking at. The best part? The price! These beauties retail for £1.00 on the MUA website, which is roughly equivalent to $1.50 AUD, and they offer worldwide shipping! At that price, you'd be hard pressed not to buy the entire collection!

Overall, I'm well pleased with these shadows, and I'm definitely planning on picking up a few more, they even have matte shadow singles which are well worth a look!

What do you think of these shadows, lovelies? Have you tried any of the MUA single shadows before? Do you have a shade you think I should buy? I'm lusting after shade #26 but it's been out of stock for ages!

Much love,
MM.
