EOTD

Hi lovelies!

I'm actually home on a Friday night, which is something that happens very seldom! I'm actually not feeling too well so I thought I'd chill at home. Somewhere along the way, though, I got bitten by the creativity bug, so I thought I'd play around with some eyeshadows!

This probably isn't something I would wear out, but I enjoyed mixing things up a bit and putting a darker shadow in the inner corner of the eye. I used my Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner, Australis Killer Curves mascara and my Beauty UK Day and Night Palette for this. Please excuse the 'crunchy' eyelashes, I was already wearing mascara and added another coat after playing with shadows, so they got a bit clumpy and there wasn't anything I could do after that.

Taken from the Beauty UK website.

This is what I ended up with. I'm terrible at naming these looks so we'll just go with EOTD, shall we? If you can think of a great name, feel free to leave me a comment and I might take you up on it!

Much love,
MM.

EOTD

Hello lovelies!

Apparently nothing inspires creativity more than a trip to the dentist...?! Don't worry, there was no 'happy gas' involved...I just felt like having a bit of a play around when I got home (seeing as a half numb mouth isn't really conducive to dinner, and all that), so I thought I'd try to come up with a colourful eye look! I used my Beauty UK Soho Bright palette for this. I'm totally loving my Beauty UK palettes, they are so pigmented and the colours are just stunning. This is especially remarkable given how affordable the palettes are!

Taken from the Beauty UK website.

I used the pale, frosty blue in the inner eyes, the pale green in the middle of the eye and the pink on the outer corner. I'd actually wear this look out...it's colourful, yes, but with eyes open, it actually looks more like a coloured liner.

Do let me know what you think, won't you? :)

Much love,
MM.

Estee Lauder GWP

Hey lovelies,

Just a quickie post to share that Estee Lauder is doing a Gift With Purchase on their website. I found out about this via the forums on Primped, and my willpower took a dive out the window.

Enter code VIP for any purchase off their website (yes, that's right, ANY purchase so it can be a cheap one) and you can select their GWP, which comes with free shipping and an additional sample of your choice. I chose the mini lash primer as my sample choice, which should go beautifully with the mascara in the GWP pack!

I can't say for certain as the photo is really tiny, but I think there's an eyeliner, lipstick, serum, moisturiser, mini mascara and eyeshadow set in there. So what are you waiting for, get shopping!

Oh, and do let me know if you end up giving in to the temptation, too, won't you?

Much love,
MM.

An exercise in creativity.

Hey lovelies,

One of my favourite beauty websites, Beautyheaven, recently came up with an amazing idea...in collaboration with Maybelline, they hosted an online chat forum between 6 pm and 8 pm. The theme was 'girls night in for a big night out', and the plan was for readers to post photos of looks created using Maybelline products, or if you didn't have any, then anything you had on hand! You could do anything you felt like, including lips, face, eyes, nails...anything that caught your fancy, really! The idea was to get creative, and also to learn from the creativity of other beauty lovers on the forum.

I got home a bit late, at 6.30 pm, but dashed on quick smart to see what everyone else was coming up with and there were some amazing ideas there. You can check out the thread for ideas (view it here), but be warned, it's a whopping 25 pages long! There are also some amazing tips, so do take care to read through if you can.

I thought it would be fun to take part so I started with the make up I'd worn to work, and built on from there. I didn't actually do anything to my foundation or blush, I basically just added on the eye make up. I thought I'd post the photos here for fun, so you can see what I came up with in the space of about 1.5 hours. Some of the photos aren't of the best quality as we were all rushing to get the photos up, and follow the chat comments as well, so please forgive the dim lighting.

This is what I wore to work today.

I then smoked it up a bit, the way I would
if I were going out to dinner after work.

A close up, it was a bit darker in real life.

I then added a bronze smokey eye and laid on
the eyeliner a bit more heavily.

In better lighting.

Bronze smokey eye and a soft lip.

Time for some red lippie!

Last look of the day, getting creative with the liner.

'Glamour shot' just for fun. :P

Well, that's what I came up with in 1.5 hours, lovelies, and let me tell you it was a frenzy for a bit! BH was really generous, too, they awarded most of the participants with little mystery Maybelline packs for taking part! Can't wait to see what shows up!

Much love,
MM.

NOTD - Essie Flawless

Hi lovelies!

I know I promised a review of my Bellabox today but I'm really beat and trying to get to bed at a decent hour, so I'm just going to do a NOTD post and then try to get some beauty sleep.

Here are some photos of one of the new Essie polishes I got, it's called Flawless. It's a really great formula and it's such a pretty candy pink. It makes me feel so girly looking down at it, which was quite a feat indeed as I spent several hours today working in the mud and rain. My manicure actually survived the experience, which is proof positive that Essie has great quality polishes!

March I Love This Box Review!

Hello lovelies!

It was truly a case of deliveries overload this morning when I received my March Bellabox, March ILTB, and my Essie polish shipment from OzSales (which I had purchased about a month ago, but with free shipping I'm not at all bothered about the delay)! Very exciting indeed, what is that they say...when it rains, it pours?

Anyhow, I was quite excited to dig into each of my little shipments, but then I had to chuck it all aside and dash out of the office for a site inspection. So I only actually got the chance to sit down and digest what was inside each box just a couple of minutes ago. As it's been a terribly long day and tomorrow will also be a long day, I'm only going to be able to do one review today, so I've chosen the ILTB as I'm far more excited about its contents. :)

So here's what I received in my gorgeous, autumn themed ILTB:

Essie nail polish mini in 'Ladylike' (this is a gorgeous beige/taupe polish that I'm totally loving, from their autumn collection)

Maybelline XXL ProCurl (full sized)

Sunsilk Co-creations straight, detangling mist (full-sized, you might have received the weather protection and shine serum instead of this)

Thalgo soft hydrating emulsion sample

Glitter puff wand

Here are some photos:

LOVE the purple theme! :)

March ILTB goodies.

L-R: Glitter puff, Thalgo moisturiser, Maybelline XXL ProCurl mascara,
Sunsilk detangling mist, and Essie 'Ladylike' nail polish.

With three of the samples being full sized, I think ILTB has spoilt us terribly yet again!

When I first read the card, my first thought was, 'I hope I get the detangling spray', and sure enough, that's what I got! I'm really excited to try it. At the moment, I'm using the detangling spray I got in my February Lust Have It box, so I'd really like to have something to compare it to. I'm also really keen to try the mascara as I'm currently having a love-hate relationship with my extremely stiff lashes, and curling is JUST the thing I am looking for! Love Maybelline mascaras and I was just wishing I had a 'cheap' primer for every day use just the other day (instead of using my Lancome oscillation booster all the time).

Being the polish addict that I am, I was thrilled to see another Essie polish in the box (we've also received one previously) but this one is really apt as it's from the autumn collection, and I LOVE it! It's a pretty, pale taupe/beige colour and I've already swatched it on my hand..it's love at first sight. Look out for a NOTD coming soon!

Last but not least, I will be quite happy to use the glitter wand the next time I go out somewhere nice, it looks so cute and dainty. The product I'm probably least excited about is the Thalgo moisturiser, but that's because my skin can be quite sensitive, particularly to moisturiser, and I don't want to break out. But I think I might actually give this a go on my decolletage or something as it looks pretty good!

VERDICT? Another box that I absolutely adored, and I think this one is fabulous as I really liked four of the five products in it! Cannot stress how lovely it is to have a box that consistently delivers lovely new goodies to tuck into, unlike some competitor boxes which have fluctuated from month to month. They have also launched their online store now, which means it will be even easier to get the goodies they bring to us (particularly the imported ones which are only available overseas, like the Rimmel gloss duo from the February box). I have been asked many times which box I recommend, and ILTB is definitely one of my top recommendations, as they are reliable, trustworthy, pleasant (every time I've emailed with a customer service inquiry) and they deliver top notch goodies every month without issues. I also love that every subscriber receives the same goodies for the most part, so no one ever has to suffer box envy unduly.

Did you get this box? If so, what colour and which Sunsilk item did you receive?

I leave you with a quick photo of the Essie polishes I ordered. They were on sale for $5 each, with free shipping, so I couldn't resist! Clearly I was in a pink mood that day? I've already put 'Flawless' (the one on the left) on, and I'll be posting some EOTD photos tomorrow. It's so pretty!

L-R: Flawless, Fiesta and Luscious Lips.

Much love,
MM.

Chadstone Runway Fashion Show

Hi lovelies!

Phew, can't believe it's Monday already, where has the time gone? This past weekend was a bit of a blur, I was out every single day and barely at home, which left me NO blogging time whatsoever.

Watched 21 Jump Street (which was really fun), Rum Diaries (which was a bit odd), helped a friend pack for moving house, attended a Priceline seminar and pamper session, shopped for a new dress for a friend's wedding, and attended said wedding and reception! It was a fantastic wedding, let me tell you, the bride looked stunning and it was such a happy affair. :)

Quick warning, this post is going to be quite photo heavy. Last Wednesday, my local shopping centre, Chadstone, had runway fashion show showcasing the latest trends and fashions for autumn, as part of the whole Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and I managed to score a double pass! It was really good fun, as I'd never been to a runway show before and it was delightful to see the models showcasing different looks. They ran through a WHOPPING 90 outfits in 45 minutes, from 7 categories, as listed below:

Sophisticated chic
Botanical prints
Navy and black
Neon brights
Le smoking
The new blazer
Haute hippy, and
Cocktail

It was lovely watching the different looks and the make up was simply stunning. I actually think some of the models were school kids, as we saw them dressed in their school uniforms before the event started.

The make up was basically glowing or matte skin, followed by bright red lipstick and lots of illuminator. Hair was sleek and pulled into a low, tight ponytail, resulting in a very sleek, modern and streamlined look, perfect for autumn/winter!

Anyhow, I grabbed a few happy snaps using my iphone (I really need to start taking my camera everywhere)...some of the photos aren't the best quality as they were moving just so darn fast! Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed that, and I do apologise for the many photos, I couldn't pick my favourites. :)

We got a voucher for a makeover at Burberry, so stay tuned for a post on that when I finally book it in one of these days. :)

Much love,
MM.

Interesting gift with purchase options

Hi lovelies,

I just wanted to share two interesting GWPs that you might not know about.

Firstly, Revlon are doing a pretty amazing deal currently at David Jones.

Also, Rimmel is doing a deal where if you purchase any two Rimmel items at Priceline, you get a GWP box containing a Day and Night Mascara, 60 second nail polish and an eyeshadow quad. The colours do vary from store to store so check with your local Priceline. You can always ask to have a look (which is what I did). I bought the Rimmel GWP today as I actually ran out of my HG black mechanical eyeliner (Rimmel exaggerate) yesterday, so this was perfect timing! Teamed it with a lip gloss worth $4, so I'm quite happy with my little haul (not that I need more eyeshadow). I've always been curious about the Day to Night mascara so quite happy to get the chance to try it!

That's all from me, folks! Let me know if you get either of these and which option you went for! :)

Much love,
MM.
