M.A.C Wash & Dry Limited Edition Collection - Steam Heat Lipstick and Warm Wash Eyeshadow Palette.

Hi lovelies,

I've totally fallen in love with the M.A.C Limited Edition Collections...they never fail to suck me in with the beautiful new packaging, plus we all know what a weakness I have for those dreaded two words - LIMITED EDITION. I wouldn't say I ordinarily succumb to FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) but it does happen when it comes to makeup, because nothing says regret like that makeup you didn't buy, am I right?!

The new Wash & Dry Collection launched online in Australia last week, but many of the items sold out quite quickly. The good news, however, is that the collection launches in Australian stores today, the 1st of June, so there's still time to run in and get the items you're lusting over.

I was fortunate enough to be sent the lipstick in Steam Heat, a cherry red, and the Warm Wash eyeshadow palette, pictured below. Bear with me, this is going to be a very photo-heavy post as I love the packaging of this collection, it's so cheerfully bright and gorgeous!

First up, the lipstick. I had seen some swatches of Steam Heat online and expected it to be a bit deeper than it was, so I was a little surprised when this applied as a bright cherry red shade. This lipstick is a satin, which means it applies quite smoothly without dragging, and it does have beautiful pigmentation. I can probably get about 6 hours of wear with this, even with eating and drinking, provided I prep my lips with a matching shade of lip liner beforehand.

This does leave a stain behind after application, so it wears off quite well. I do have quite dry lips, so I find my lips get a little dry after wearing this a while, as I do with most of the M.A.C. satin shades. It's nothing that a little lip balm or gloss on top won't fix, but just thought I would mention it nevertheless.

Overall, really love this shade! I give it a big thumbs up. The other shades in this collection were Morange (bright orange - Amplified), Creme d'Nude (pale beige pink nude - Cremesheen) and Tumble Dry (pale coral - Lustre).

The Warm Wash palette is lovely, a compact mini palette with 3 thin eyeshadow pans packaged inside. The shades were subtle, but pretty. I only have two observations with this; firstly, if you enjoy applying your shadows with your fingers, this isn't for you, as the pans are so slim that you need a thin brush to pick up a decent amount of product. Secondly, there is a little fallout with these but you can always work with it by applying the shadows with a damp brush.

The middle shade from this palette is definitely my favourite. There are two other eyeshadow palettes as well, with pretty greens (Green Clean) and taupes (Permanent Press). Aren't the names gorgeous?

One last photo of the lipstick and shadow palette together...because isn't it just gorgeous?!

I've actually got my eye on one last item from this set, the highlighting powder. It's got a few different shades in it so I'd love to pick it up! I think I'm going to head in and swatch it to see if I like it.

    1. It's beautiful! Not really a highlighter on my skintone, but the topmost shade would be perfect as a blush. Now, if I could just bring myself to use it... :P

  12. Yes the packaging for this collection is just everything. I purchased the 125 dense face brush for contouring and it's just amazing. It's definitely my most expensive brush but I love it. I'd like to purchase the highlighter myself!
