Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed, Spotlights and The One Brush Review + Swatches (and Giveaway)!!!

Hi lovelies!

Boy, do I have a fun treat in store for all of you! I've officially been running this blog for about 4 years now, so thank you all for sticking with me through everything. In keeping with tradition, I've got a review of some fab goodies, and then a blogiversary GIVEAWAY to share!

I've been obsessed with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors since I tried the pressed highlighter in Opal (reviewed here), so I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to trial the pressed highlighters in Moonstone and Topaz...as well as the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlights (a trio of mini cream highlighters in shades Opal, Pearl and Champagne Gold). Champagne Pop is the collaboration shade that Becca released in conjunction with popular YouTube Guru Jaclyn Hill (which I bought as soon as it hit the market), so I thought I'd include swatches of that shade too.

I was also provided with the Becca The One Perfecting brush, a multitasking makeup brush that's supposed to be perfect for applying everything, including primer, foundation, highlighter and contour! Read on to see what I thought of these products...and then enter the giveaway that the lovely people at Ry.com.au were kind enough to provide for my readers to help celebrate the blog birthday!

Keep reading after the jump!

Becca The One Perfecting Brush.
Now, I've already gone on about what I think of the Shimmering Skin Perfectors Pressed in this post, so I won't repeat myself beyond saying that the texture is beautiful and all the shades apply like a dream.
Clockwise from top left: Moonstone, Champagne Gold, Topaz and Opal.
There is only one drawback to these gorgeous highlighters: there's no easy way to differentiate between the shades, so you actually have to pick each compact up to check the names at the bottom. This isn't something that's too hard to live with, but I do wish Becca had incorporated some colour differences for each shade into the packaging so it was easier to identify at one glance.

The shades I have are Moonstone (pale white), Champagne Pop (soft white gold), Opal (golden pearl) and Topaz (copper bronze), as evidenced in the photo below. I believe there's a good range to cover most skintones.
L-R: Moonstone, Champagne Gold, Opal and Topaz.
I believe that Moonstone would best flatter fairer skintones, while Champagne Pop and Opal are very versatile shades that fit well on all skintones. Topaz is best suited for darker skintones. I'm missing two shades, Rose Gold, which I'm dying for, and Copper, which I'm lusting after but suspect will be too dark for my skintone.
L-R: Moonstone, Champagne Gold, Opal and Topaz.
The Spotlights are packaged in clear tubes that allow you to easily identify which shade you're after, and are meant to be applied with the provided doe foot applicator.
Becca Spotlights
I like applying a few dots along my cheekbones and just under the arch of my eyebrows, before blending out with my fingertips for a soft glow.

The formula is light and sheer, as well as extremely blendable, so it's easy not to go overboard with these, as the swatches show.
Spotlights L-R: Pearl, Champagne Gold and Opal.
In case you're wondering how they compare, here's a swatch photo showing all the shades together.

The One brush is quite an interesting concept, but I have to confess it didn't quite work for me. I'd definitely recommend washing it before use, as it did shed a little bit when I washed it for the first time.

This brush is quite a beautiful brush but I'm notoriously picky with my makeup brushes and found this to be a little too bulky for foundation application. I like to buff in my foundation with circular motions and this applied best with flat, steady strokes.
Becca The One Perfecting Brush.
It was handy for applying primer as it got the face done quite quickly, but I tend to use my fingers when applying primer for the most part. I did like it for contouring and highlighting though, so it was definitely a win for that! I'd definitely suggest using a light hand with this when applying highlighter as you could deposit too much on your face otherwise. Overall, I'm really pleased to have this brush in my collection, and it's definitely a little different from all the other brushes I own!
