Essence Limited Edition New In Town Collection and Product Reviews.

Hi lovelies!

Essence have a new collection out at Target, called the New In Town Collection! I have such a weakness for limited edition collections; somehow, I always feel like I need to pick up at least a couple of items before they're all gone (within reason, it doesn't apply if I don't think the products will suit me)! This is especially true for Essence Collections as they always seem extremely limited in number and the stands are often decimated at the end of the very first day they're put out.

Anyway, I digress, I popped in to Target to pick up a new two-piece for the Bali trip, and decided to swing by and have a look at the Essence stand. I'd been in the city the night before and the New In Town stand had been completely raided, with nothing left, which is why I was surprised when Target in Chadstone Shopping Centre actually had a few items left in stock! Now, I've heard that there are actually only five items from this range which are actually exclusive and limited edition (two polishes, two shadows and the remaining lipstick in the range, none of which I purchased because I wasn't especially interested in the shades) but don't quote me on that one!

I ended up picking up two of the three lipsticks available, and the last blush left on the stand (must've been fate!).

Keep reading after the jump!

Essence Cosmetics New In Town Collection lipsticks in Natural Beauty and Wear Berries, and blush in Life's a Cherry.

I was drawn to both pink lipsticks, and the blush looked pigmented enough that I thought it would actually show on my skin (always a risk when there are never any testers). The chic black packaging of the lipsticks is quite appealing, much better than the old packaging which always seemed a bit tacky!

How gorgeous is the little 'e' embossed into the lipstick?!

I have to say I'm really glad I picked these items up; the lipsticks are smooth, creamy and pigmented, and I can wear them all day very comfortably. Natural Beauty is quite neutral on my lips, but Wear Berries is a gorgeous shade that I'm really liking!

The blush is also surprisingly pigmented and lasts quite well on me, I get up to 6-8 hours before I need to touch it up again.

Have you picked up any of the shades from this collection, lovelies? Do you love the Essence Collections as much as I do?

Much love,
MM.

  1. The Essence stands in my local Targets are revolting! Never anything new and they are always putrid dirty :( That darker lipstick would look great on you, the blush looks pretty nice too :)

  2. These are not limited edition.. Saw them in priceline too. They are a new addition to the existing line. But I love the lipstick packaging! So sleek and nice looking.

    1. I was thinking it was so misleading to announce a new collection with only five items from it being limited edition! I agree, much nicer than the old packaging. :)

  9. Hi Nalini! Man I love the look of all the lippies! :) Unfortunately it can be difficult to find the latest Essence products here in Adelaide - they sell like hotcakes and/or much of what's left at the Pricelines I visit (Target is way behind it seems?!?!) has been "tested". :( Enjoy these lovely looking goodies! :D
