Product Review: Born To Buy Pink Lady Lip Balm.

Hi lovelies,

I have a special post to share with you today! A few months ago, my blogger friend Sophie from Born to Buy created a line of lip balms named after her blog. Being the lip balm addict that I am, I couldn't resist when she asked me if I was keen to try one of her balms! Available in four flavours, Berry Ripe (wild berry), Pink Lady (pink lemonade), Watermelody (watermelon) and Killa Vanilla (vanilla), I had a bit of a struggle trying to decide which flavour I wanted, as I'm obsessed with both Pink Lemonade and Vanilla, but as I already have an amazing vanilla balm I love, I decided to go for Pink Lady to try something different!

My first impression of the balm when it arrived was very favourable; it's packaged in a clean, white tube, which makes for easy and hygienic use (a pet peeve of mine is when products are packaged in pots - sooo unhygienic, regardless of how careful you are). A clear, translucent balm, Pink Lady also smelled amazing; zesty and sweet without being overbearing.

Keep reading after the jump!

The texture is moist and hydrating, leaving an almost 'wet' feeling on your lips, very much like a gloss would. It's extremely emollient and glides easily over my lips, and it also has a light, sweet taste. I have a tendency to love flavoured products and this one immediately won extra brownie points for that factor alone.

The Pink Lady Born To Buy lip balm ticks the packaging, texture, fragrance and taste boxes...so how does it perform when it comes to moisturising? The answer - really well!

It's not the most emollient and moisturising balm I own, so I don't use it for healing chronically dry and chapped lips. What I love doing is using a really heavy duty balm at night, lightly exfoliating my lips in the morning, and then applying a thin layer of Pink Lady to start my day off as I apply my makeup. It's become a ritual that I really look forward to every morning as it does an excellent job at soothing my lips and prepping them for lipstick application!

If my review has you thinking that you'd like to try this for yourself, let me sweeten the pot a little further...Sophie's been kind enough to offer my readers a special discount for the month of November, apply code MADEUPMAIDEN at checkout to receive a 15% discount! All her balms are priced at $9, which also includes free shipping.

Are you as much as a lip balm addict as I am, lovelies? What balms are you obsessed with? Hit me up so I can add more to my wishlist!

Much love,
MM.
x

  1. Am I a balm addict??? Oh heck yeah! I have balms everyone....beside the bed, in the handbag, in the spare room, in the bathroom and on the bookcase. Why? I dunno LOL.
I honestly could not function or even live without a balm cause my lips get super dry super quick all the time. I'd remember a balm before my wallet and phone if heading out thats for sure.
This balm looks gorgeous and I love your review. It's got me really interested in getting my mitts on a Born to Buy balm :)
