Halloween Zombie Doll Makeup Look and How-To!

Hi lovelies,

Happy Halloween! If you are a long time reader, you'll know how much I love Halloween! There's a lot of fun to be hard getting into the spirit of it. I also adore watching the little kids get all dressed up for Trick or Treating.

Unfortunately, I don't have much of my makeup stash with me here in Malaysia, so I was really restricted with what I could come up with. As a result, I tried getting creative with some simple makeup (heavy contouring, pink and black eyeshadow and a liquid liner). Big thanks to my friend Kris for helping me name this look, which she coined 'Zombie Doll'!

Before I go any further, I will apologise for the terrible quality of the photos...The lighting in my bedroom here is terribly yellow in photos, and I also didn't have my camera with me so I had to make do with using the camera on my iPhone. I was kicking myself for not waiting to do this look in the daytime, but somehow, inspiration only strikes at night for me! I managed to take close up photos of my nails in daylight, so they turned out much better than the makeup photos I took last night. Check out my Halloween nails post here.

Keep reading after the jump!

If you were wondering how I did this look, it's actually really simple!

I smudged pink shadow from my BH Cosmetics Take Me to Brazil palette around my eyes, and then patted on some black shadow from the same palette over the mobile eye lid, taking it up to the crease. I then lined my eyes very messily with my Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner. I contoured very heavily with my Sleek Face Form in Dark, and then created ombre lips by lining my lips with my Rimmel Exaggerate liner, before filling in the rest with my Bite Beauty red lipstick. Last but not least, I drew lines all over my face and neck with my Master Precise liner.

Told you it was easy, and effective...I nearly gave my parents a heart attack when I popped out of my room!

Hope you liked this look, lovelies! Don't forget to check out my blood splattered nails! You can also check out my previous Halloween creations here. What will you be doing for Halloween?

Much love,
MM.

  2. Inspiration tends to strike me at night too and while I have a great little lightbox I can use for photos I tend to get half way through the look and feel like it's bed time! hahaha.

I love what you did, I was one of those kids that had a fear of dolls and still to this day some of the really old ones freak me the fuck out!

    1. Haha...I think I need a lightbox! I think we're definitely late night owls.

I still feel like some of the dolls can be creepy as heck! It's like you can feel their eyes following you...

    1. Thank you, Indie! Aw, I had a lovely friend say the same, I'm going to take that and run with it! I'm just a little sad that some of the details got a bit lost in the fuzziness of the photo.
