So, what did I think of this month's box? I loved it!

Needless to say, the makeup addict in me was thrilled to bits to receive the Be a Bombshell products. Subscribers received an eyeshadow from this brand in October 2013, and I loved mine so much that I couldn't wait to try other products from the range. A multi-use product suitable for use on lips, eyes and cheeks,'The One Stick' is very similar in concept to the famous NARS ' The Multiple', so I was quite interested to see how it would perform. The shade I received, Girl Crush, is a pearlescent light pink shade that almost looks lavender on my skin. I believe this shade would look best on lighter skintones, and so I'm passing this on to a friend.

The lip crayon in Some Beach, on the other hand, is a very pigmented, bright coral with shimmer through it. I'm definitely going to be reaching for this when I want a statement lip. It does feel a little drying on the lips but nothing a good lipbalm can't fix.

L-R: Be a Bombshell The One Stick in Girl Crush and Lip Crayon in Some Beach.

I don't have much to say about the WOTNOT wipes, I basically only use these while swatching for the blog, but I always wonder why companies never provide us with a full pack instead of the sample size containing 5 wipes. I've been a bit obsessed with Nuxe of late so I'm keen to try the Nirvanesque lotion.

The Red Carpet Kolour is an interesting product, said to give your body an all-over glow, but without the self-tan tag! While I'm really keen to actually try this, I'm a little disappointed to only receive 2 sachets of this, it's going to be really hard to stretch this to using on all my limbs!

The Aphelia Oasis Acne Solution is one I'm glad to see in the box. I have used this before, and actually, trialled this for the lovely Sarah over at The Science of Beauty. If you're interested in my thoughts, you can read them here. Overall, I will say this product is quite a good one, it's not a miracle-worker but it did help my skin. Last but not least, I really did appreciate the inclusion of the heart-shaped lolly! While it's non-essential to the box, it's a lovely little touch in keeping with the spirit of Valentine's Day.

Verdict? Really loved this box, Violet Box are doing a great job of introducing us to new products and foreign brands every month.

You can order a box at $22.95 from the Violet Box website. I believe you can also score a once-off discount of $10 by entering code VIOLETBOX10 (not an affiliate code) at checkout.

What do you think of this box, lovelies, see anything you like?

Much love,
MM.
x

  1. The lippies look great, and I love the colours:)

I've been wanting to try the WOTNOT wipes, but I agree, 5 wipes isn't enough to see how your skin reacts.

I'm excited to hear about your upcoming travels:) Xx

    1. I agree, Ingy, the shades are very pretty. I swapped with a friend and she sent me the coral Be a Bombshell The One stick, and it's lovely!

The post about the upcoming travels will go live tomorrow. :)

  2. I loved this months box, I haven't used any of the brands in there before. I already love 'The one stick' I'm wearing it as blush today, I got the Trophy Wife shade in the lip crayon, which is my kind of colour! :) I'm going to go read your review on the Acne Solution now though!

  3. Looks like a really great box! I was obsessed with trying to track down some wotnot wipes after I tried them in a sample box ages ago. They are the only wipes that I've tried so far that don't sting my eyes!

    1. Ooh, are they hard to track down? I had a feeling that I've seen them in DJ's, otherwise there's always the website!

  4. This box looks awesome, I'm not familiar with most of these brands - that always makes it exciting :) random question, did you eat the lolly? I'm so wary of candy that comes in the mail haha I'm worried it'll poison me!!

    1. I agree, Sarah. It's lovely to try new brands, which is what VB really excels at. I'm familiar with most in this box but I still loved the box. :)

I actually haven't eaten the lolly! I'm not huge on them but do eat them from time to time, just ran out of time before I left Melbourne so I didn't get a chance to!

  5. This looks like a lovely box, but I'm still happy I unsubbed! I think a lot of this would have gone to waste for me... but I love that they are including Be A Bombshell as I love the stuff I've tried from them in the past! xx
