Antipodean Beauties - Lashes.

Hello lovelies,

The theme for this week's Antipodean Beauties challenge is Lashes. Now, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with false lashes, so I decided I had to use some for this theme, since it is a challenge after all! I love falsies because they look fantastic on, but they often take a while to apply on my large eyes (even makeup artists have trouble sometimes) and as I'm usually doing my makeup looks at night, I'm often too tired to fuss around with them!

I have quite a few pairs of different false lashes in my stash, among which are some gorgeous 'deer and butterfly' paper lashes I picked up a while ago (sadly, the place I bought them from has now gone defunct). I've been waiting for a chance to try them so I decided to use them for this look.

As you can see, paper lashes are really long, so I decided to split them up and use the butterflies on the lower lashline. If you ever use paper lashes, be really careful with them as they are quite fragile and can tear very easily. I found it helpful to gently detach them from the backing with a pair of tweezers.

Here's what I came up with!

Keep reading after the jump!

I hope you liked the look, lovelies! What do you think of the paper lashes? If you'd like to try some out for yourself, you can buy them here (with free shipping)! If you're careful with them, you can actually get more than several uses out of them, they aren't completely fragile. :)

Don't forget to check out the other lovely looks for this week's tag!

Much love,
MM.

What lipstick are you wearing? I really love the colour and the texture looks nice and moisturising too.

  8. Gorgeous!!! Looks so very pretty on you! But then again, you always look stunning! I've never tried anything like this! I still can't remember if I've even tried any sort of false lashes on ever!

Did you do this the other night after getting home? I had a shower and then passed out with phone in my hand :D

  9. This SHOULD look a little ridiculous but it's GORGEOUS. You've done a brilliant job, as usual. I can't even imagine what sort of mess I'd end up in with false lashes!!!!!!!!!! You've done brilliantly.
With love, my very special girl,
    Trish.

  10. I never really liked paper lashes until this post N! I think it's the butterfly on the bottom - it totally changes the look of the paper lashes into something sophisticated but whimsical! and what's your lip colour? It's awesome!! I'm guessing Apocalips maybe?

  13. Too cute! You look gorgeous! When I say the lashes themselves I was thinking there's no way you would wear the outside, but you pull them off really well! You could totally go out for a nice dinner wearing these! xx
