Antipodean Beauties - Winter.

Hello lovelies,

Yay, it's the weekend! I've been a bit unwell this week, I may have picked up a virus of sorts as I'm feeling all kinds of achy! I don't have cold symptoms, I'm just in all kinds of pain. Having said that, I got home from work two nights ago, spent a few hours in bed resting, got up to shower before going to sleep, and suddenly felt the inspiration for a winter look for the Antipodean Beauties tag!

When I think of winter, I think of cold, crisp weather, associated with blues and whites, so here's what I came up with! It's a little bit more 'out there' than what I'd ordinarily wear out (mainly because of the white on the lower waterline) but it's easy enough to just substitute the stark white for a beige or gold pencil for a more wearable look.

Keep reading after the jump!

Products used:

NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk (base)
White eyeshadow (inner eye corner) and deep grey shimmer shadow (outer eye corner and crease) from my 88 eyeshadow palette (it doesn't have a specific manufacturer but I purchased it from Crown Brushes)
Frosty blue and deep blue shadow from the Beauty UK Soho palette on the mobile lid
Eye of Horus black smokey eye pencil on upper lashline and through crease (blended out with the grey above for the 'cut crease')
Black eyeshadow for brows
Maybelline Volum' Express The Mega Plush mascara (probably should have used falsies but I was lazy tired)

What do you think of this look, lovelies? Does it suit the 'winter' theme? What do you think of when it comes to winter? Winter makes me think of reading in bed with a cup of hot chocolate (or red wine) at my side!

Much love,
MM.

  1. I absolutely adore this look on you Nalini! I am a huge huge fan of white eyeliner, extremely highlighted inner corner and blue eye makeup so I am in love with this look you have created!!! I like how you worked some darker shadow into your crease to balance out the brighter blue.
    Great work!! xx

    1. Thank you, Michelle! I am actually feeling just achy, tired and run down...so I don't look sick, but I certainly feel decrepit!

  4. I love this look on you and it's very wintery :)

When I think of winter, I think of eveything covered in snow, frost on the windows, hot chocolate in my hands, marshmallows and cookies and lazing in bed with a good book. Although, I'll happily do this whenever! :D xx
